Blockchains are the basic technology that underpins crypto assets and tokens.
Some are based on proof-of-work, like Bitcoin, others are based on proof-of-stake, like Solana.
Etherium is currently a proof-of-work blockchain, but they are planning to move to proof-of-stake in order to reduce transaction costs, environmental impact and increase transaction rates.
